📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
🔧 MAINTENANCE MONDAY — WEEK 2 OF YEAR 8 SEASON 1 🔧
Week 2 of Year 8 Season 1: Rise Up is underway, and while the servers are holding green with no maintenance scheduled, there is plenty happening this week that every Agent needs to be across. Two event transitions are hitting tomorrow after daily reset — Descent Surge closes its window and Proficiency Surge opens a two-week grinding opportunity that lines up perfectly with the new Prototype Gear system. On top of that, Rise Up has launched with a number of active bugs affecting core systems including Prototype upgrades, Retaliation bars, Escalation matchmaking, and the in-game store. This post covers everything you need to know to stay operational and avoid costly mistakes this week.
🔶 SERVER STATUS — APRIL 6, 2026
🟢 CURRENT STATUS: ONLINE
All Division 2 servers are operational across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox as of Monday morning.
No scheduled maintenance announced for this week
No emergency maintenance active at time of publishing
Situation remains fluid — Year 8 Season 1 is still in its early weeks and patches can drop with short notice
👀 Stay locked in to the page for any updates the moment they drop.
🔶 EVENT TRANSITIONS — TUESDAY, APRIL 7
Two events are flipping after tomorrow’s daily project reset. Plan your sessions accordingly.
Descent Surge — ENDING TOMORROW
The Descent Surge closes after Tuesday’s daily reset
Tonight is your final window to farm double Descent currency and lock in any outstanding outfits or rewards
Don’t leave anything on the table — once reset hits, the bonus is gone
Proficiency Surge — LAUNCHING TOMORROW
Proficiency Surge kicks off after Tuesday’s daily reset and is currently scheduled to run for two weeks
This is a double Expertise materials event — ideal timing with Prototype Gear now live in the game
Agents planning Prototype upgrades should use this window to push gear to Expertise Level 30 before committing any Protocores
⚠️ Reminder: Prototype upgrades are irreversible — get your Expertise sorted during the Surge but be patient with the actual upgrade decision
🔶 BUILD & FARMING PRIORITIES THIS WEEK
With no balance patches dropping and the Proficiency Surge about to open, here is where your time is best spent:
Tonight — Final Descent Surge runs before reset. Clear your reward goals and spend any banked currency.
From Tuesday — Shift focus to Expertise grinding. Push your best gear pieces toward Level 30 using the doubled material rates.
Escalation — Continue farming for Protocores and Prototype Gear drops. Higher tiers mean better drop rates — climb steadily rather than jumping into Tier 10 unprepared.
Retaliations — Still one of the best activities for exotic blueprints and Diamond Transceivers. Run the Daily Agitation Project to reliably trigger them given current matchmaking issues.
⚠️ Hold off on Prototype upgrades until the item instability bug is fixed — see bug report section below.
🔶 YEAR 8 SEASON 1 — KNOWN BUGS & FIELD WORKAROUNDS
Rise Up launched with several active issues that are directly affecting gameplay and progression. Here is the full breakdown of what is broken and how to work around each one until fixes are deployed.
Bug 1 — Prototype Gear Instability
Prototype items are not holding their state after logging out. Attributes and rolls can shift or drop in value after a relog, which is a serious problem given that upgrades cannot be reversed.
Do not upgrade any item you are not 100% certain about
If gear is displaying wrong stats after a relog, perform a full hard reset of your game or console — do not just swap characters
Best move right now: farm Protocores and sit on them until the devs confirm a fix
Bug 2 — Blacklister Exotic Reconfiguration Trap
The Blacklister exotic knee pads blueprint has a bug that incorrectly requires Overdog gloves as a reconfiguration cost. This is wrong and will burn your materials for nothing.
Do not attempt to reconfigure the Blacklister right now — full stop
Hold off until a patch confirms this is resolved
Bug 3 — Retaliation Bars Stuck at Zero
Many Agents are finding their Retaliation bar is not progressing despite active play.
Workaround: Complete the Daily Agitation Project — this is currently the most reliable method to trigger a Retaliation
Retaliation matchmaking is also inconsistent right now — be prepared for long queues or run it without matchmaking
Bug 4 — Escalation Matchmaking Dropping Wrong Mission
Queuing for Escalation directly from the Base of Operations will place you into a random mission rather than the one you want.
Fix: Fast travel to the specific mission location, activate the Escalation toggle from there, then start matchmaking — this locks you into the correct mission
Bug 5 — Season Pass Store Pricing Error
A UI bug in the seasonal reward track can redirect you from the $30 bundle to the $50 bundle automatically when clicking through.
Fix: Navigate directly to the in-game store, go to the Add-ons tab, and select your bundle manually from there
Double check what you are purchasing before confirming — do not rely on the reward track shortcut right now
Other Active Issues
Tinkerer: Still bugged — approach with caution
Audio: Ongoing issues with Rifles and LMGs
Expertise display: The Pointman is incorrectly showing as the Armadillo vest in the Expertise screen
📋 Report Your Bugs
The devs have launched a new Community Bug Reporter on the Ubisoft website this season. If you are running into issues not covered here, submit your report and upload any proof you have. The more the community documents, the faster these get resolved.
🔶 WEEKLY REMINDER
⏰ Tuesday April 7 after daily project reset: Descent Surge ends — get your final runs in tonight. Proficiency Surge launches — two weeks of doubled Expertise materials begins. No maintenance scheduled but monitor official channels as patches can drop without much warning during an active season launch window.
