🔥 SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION TACTICIAN BUILD
Contributed by: Apophisdag
The Spontaneous Combustion Tactician is a status-effect hybrid built around the Ember Engine gear set, constant Burn application, and the automated Pulse provided by the Tactician Drone. The build combines Status Effects, Skill Haste, Vile, Perfect Spotter, and Spontaneous Combustion to create a continuous damage-over-time and crowd-control loop. It is designed for solo and group PvE, with strong performance in Heroic content and the ability to deal with Rogue Agents. The build has also been designed to remain useful after the current season, although Legendary and Escalation performance has not yet been tested.

🛰️ SKILLS
Skill 1 — Tactician Drone
The Tactician Drone is one of the most important components of the build.
Base Range: 55 meters
Base Duration: 360 seconds
The Drone continuously scans and pings targets, providing the Pulse needed to support Perfect Spotter.
The Synergy
Tactician Drone
→ Pulses enemies
→ Activates Perfect Spotter
→ Supports weapon and skill damage
→ Works alongside Ember Engine’s status-effect loop
→ Helps maintain the build’s automated battlefield control.
Skill 2 — Firestarter Chem Launcher
The Firestarter Chem Launcher provides a reliable way to apply Burn.
Starting the encounter with Burn also allows the Ember Engine Burn interaction to immediately come into play.
🔄 Solo Alternative
For higher-difficulty solo content, Firestarter can be replaced with:
Reviver Hive
This provides an additional safety net without changing the rest of the build.
🧠 SEASONAL MODIFIER
Passive Modifiers Equipped:
No seasonal modifiers were specified for this build.
The build is specifically intended to remain usable after the current season, so no seasonal modifier has been added.
🧠 TACTICAL SUMMARY
Spontaneous Combustion Tactician is built around one simple idea: keep applying status effects and let Ember Engine turn them into fire. The Tactician Drone provides continuous Pulse support while Perfect Spotter increases the build’s damage against pulsed enemies. Firestarter provides a reliable Burn source, while Ember Engine, White Hot, and Vile turn that status application into an ongoing damage-over-time loop.
The build also has a weapon-focused side through Bittersweet and Sharpshooter. Bittersweet can build its Transfusion stacks through headshots before entering its guaranteed-headshot window, while the Lexington provides a fast-firing alternative. Quickstep gives the build additional mobility when moving between encounters or repositioning.
The build has been personally tested successfully in Heroic missions, solo content, and against Rogue Agents. It is also designed to remain useful after the season. Legendary and Escalation have not yet been tested, so no performance claim is being made for those activities.
