📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
🔶 THE BIGGEST UPDATE OF RISE UP IS HERE
Title Update Y8S1.2 is dropping today during scheduled maintenance and it is one of the most content-packed updates of the Rise Up season so far. A brand new vendor arrives in the Base of Operations, a new Classified Assignment sends Agents to investigate an SHD network anomaly, a full Global Event schedule kicks off, and the developers are addressing some of the most requested fixes in the community. If you have been waiting to dive deeper into the Prototype gear system, today is the day.
🔶 NEW — ESCALATION REQUISITION VENDOR
A permanent new vendor is now live in the Base of Operations, located right next to the Escalation panel. This vendor gives Level 40 Agents a direct way to spend their Escalation Tokens on Prototype gear — no more relying purely on RNG drops from the Escalation mode itself.
Key details:
✅ Prototype Random Cache — always available, no purchase limit, contains one random Prototype item
✅ Prototype Gear Cache — daily rotation featuring a specific gear type with improved roll chances
✅ Prototype Weapon Cache — daily rotation featuring a specific weapon type with improved roll chances
No purchase limit applies to any of the three cache types. This vendor is a significant quality of life addition for Agents grinding the Prototype system and gives Escalation Tokens a direct and reliable use outside of the mode itself.
🔶 NEW — CLASSIFIED ASSIGNMENT: THE CAPITOL ANOMALY
ISAC has flagged an SHD network anomaly at The Capitol Globe newspaper headquarters and Agents are being sent in to investigate. This new Classified Assignment is live today alongside the update and brings fresh lore, collectibles, and rewards to the field.
Important information:
✅ Content — new ECHOs, audio logs, and lore surrounding lost Agents
✅ Rewards — backpack trophies and a new named LMG
✅ Access — Level 30+ Agents with the Season Pass Bundle already have access; also available via direct store purchase
Classified Assignments are some of the richest lore content in The Division 2 and The Capitol Anomaly continues that tradition. If you have been following the Rise Up season narrative this one is worth running through fully — the audio logs in particular tend to carry the story forward.
🔶 GLOBAL EVENTS AND MULTIPLIER SCHEDULE
A full slate of events is kicking off with this update. Here is the complete schedule so Agents can plan their week accordingly.
Key details:
✅ Assault Global Event (May 12–19) — increased damage multiplier against nearby enemies up to 200% — Reward: Piggy Mask
✅ Ambush Global Event (May 19–26) — staying still builds a 200% damage multiplier — Reward: Trench Mask
✅ Vanguard Overdrive Multiplier Event (May 15–19) — +50% Reload Speed / +50% Swap Speed / +40% Hazard Protection / +20% Movement Speed / +15% Armor on Kill
✅ 5x XP Event (May 19–26) — massive Season Pass XP boost to help Agents push to Rank 100 before the season finale
Assault rewards aggressive close-range playstyles so high DPS builds with good mobility will perform well this week. Ambush flips that on its head — stationary builds, turrets, and skill-heavy loadouts will shine in the May 19 window.
🔶 COMPENSATION — CHECK YOUR MAILBOX
The developers have acknowledged that Core Strength gear was not dropping correctly as Prototype Targeted Loot in the Bank HQ Escalation mission. As a result a compensation package has been issued to all affected Agents.
Key details:
✅ Reward — 3 Prototype Core Caches delivered directly to your in-game mailbox
✅ Claim window — log in between May 12 and May 26 to receive the grant
✅ One-time only — this is a single claim per account
Do not wait on this one. Log in before May 26 or the compensation expires unclaimed.
🔶 KEY FIXES IN THIS UPDATE
This update addresses a number of long-standing issues that the community has been tracking. Below are the most impactful fixes Agents need to know about.
Key details:
✅ Prototype Cores, Escalation Tokens, and Escalation Tiers — now shared account-wide
✅ BTSU Firmware — now account-wide instead of per character
✅ Fragile Armor — long-standing stacking issue after kit use now fixed
✅ Picaro’s Holster — unintended 15% weapon damage attribute on non-Prototype version fixed
✅ Tinkerer Exotic Mask — “Abridged” talent now works correctly with Prototype Weapons
✅ Rise Up Caches — can now be purchased from Danny Weaver (fixed)
✅ Legacy Manhunt Climax Missions for General Anderson and Fairview Power Plant — no longer appear locked
✅ Overdogs Reconfigure Blueprint — no longer incorrectly requires Exodus Gloves
✅ Richter & Kaiser GmbH Backpacks — no longer lose Gear Mod after Prototype upgrade
✅ Pakhan and Big Alejandro Reconfiguration Blueprints — now correctly available at Inaya
The account-wide fix for Prototype Cores, Escalation Tokens, and Escalation Tiers is arguably the biggest quality of life change in this update. Agents running multiple characters no longer need to grind the same progression separately — everything is now pooled across the account.
🔶 COMING SOON — BATTLE FOR BROOKLYN ANNIVERSARY
The developers have teased an upcoming Battle for Brooklyn DLC celebration event to mark the anniversary of the expansion. No details have been confirmed yet but the tease signals something is coming in the near future. Keep an eye on official Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment channels for the announcement.
🔶 STRATEGIC INSIGHT — HOW TO APPROACH THE FIRST DAY BACK
With servers coming back online after maintenance Agents will have a lot to work through. Here is the recommended order of operations to make the most of day one.
First — check your mailbox immediately and claim the 3 Prototype Core Caches before anything else. Then head to the Base of Operations and locate the new Escalation Requisition Vendor next to the Escalation panel — check the daily rotation caches and spend tokens if the rotation suits your build. After that jump into the Assault Global Event while the 200% damage multiplier is live and start working toward the Piggy Mask reward. Finally if you have not run The Capitol Anomaly yet block out time this week — it is new story content and the named LMG reward makes it worth the run.
🔶 WEEKLY REMINDER
⏰ SHD Exposed ends today at daily reset — event stars do not carry over. Use them before the servers go down or they are gone.
⏰ Claim your 3 Prototype Core Caches from your mailbox — window closes May 26.
⏰ Assault Global Event runs May 12–19 — Piggy Mask reward up for grabs.
⏰ Vanguard Overdrive multiplier event runs May 15–19 — plan your farming sessions accordingly.
⏰ 5x XP Event starts May 19 — push hard for Season Pass Rank 100 before the finale.
