📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
🔶 THE FASTEST WAY TO STACK CHERRY BLOSSOM KEYS
The Cherry Blossom Event is live in The Division 2, and if you want to maximize your Sakura Key haul before the event ends, the Lantern Farm is the method to know. I ran this personally with my clan — 29 lanterns, 50+ keys collected — and the loop is clean, efficient, and repeatable. This guide covers everything you need: how the mechanic works, how to fight the enemies, all 40 lantern coordinates across D.C., and how the daily reset system keeps the farm alive.
🔶 HOW THE LANTERN FARM WORKS
Every corrupted lantern you find triggers enemy waves — and those waves drop Sakura Keys. The mechanic is straightforward but there is one critical step agents miss: you must kill the Katsina before you can activate the lantern. Once the enemies are down, activate and move immediately to the next location.
Key details:
* 2 to 5 waves of Katsina spawn per lantern
* Sometimes 2 Ronin spawn alongside them
* Each lantern nets around 4 to 5 keys on average — sometimes less, but you will get at least 2
* You cannot activate the lantern while Katsina are still active nearby
My personal results: 29 lanterns found → 50+ keys collected. The more lanterns you chain in a session, the bigger your haul.
🔶 COMBAT TIPS — KATSINA AND RONIN
These are not standard enemies. Know what you are dealing with before you engage.
The Katsina:
* Stay in cover and eliminate them at range
* Watch the snipers — they are the weakest unit but can drop you in 2 shots
* Clear them fast to unlock lantern activation
The Ronin:
* Significantly harder to kill than the Katsina
* Use Foam Grenades — they are the most effective counter
* They use healing abilities, so prioritize them and burn them down quickly
* Do NOT deploy drones — the Ronin will hack them
Running with a clan or group makes wave clearing faster and keeps the loop moving. Solo is viable — just expect slightly slower clears on Ronin waves.

Note: Location 22 is underground in the sewers — don’t overlook it.
🔶 DAILY RESET — HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
There are 40 unique lantern locations across D.C., but they do not all reset at once. The event uses a trickle reset system designed to keep the activity live throughout the festival.
Important information:
* Find and interact with all 40 lanterns to earn the Herald of Spring Distinction and the exclusive cat arm patch
* Once you interact with a lantern it becomes inactive
* 3 random lanterns reactivate every daily reset at 08:00 AM UTC
* Reactivated lanterns trigger Kitsunebi squad ambushes — the primary source of Sakura Keys
This means even after clearing all 40, you have a reason to log in daily and hit the reset lanterns for continued key income.
🔶 SIMPLE FARMING LOOP
Once you understand the mechanic, the loop runs itself:
1. Find a lantern
2. Kill the Katsina to unlock activation
3. Activate the lantern
4. Clear the Ronin waves
5. Collect the keys
6. Move to the next coordinate
If a lantern will not activate, do not waste time — move on. It means Katsina are still active in the area. Clear them or skip to the next location and return.
🔶 AGENT TIP — FIELD NOTES FROM THE RUN
I ran this loop with my clan and we kept it going for an extended session. A few things worth knowing from direct experience:
* Moving lantern to lantern is the key to volume — do not stay in one area
* Chaining locations without stopping is what pushes your key count high
* Group play significantly speeds up Ronin clears and keeps momentum
* Solo is viable but budget extra time on the harder waves
The method works. The coordinates are confirmed. Get out there and farm it while the event is live.
🔶 WEEKLY REMINDER
⏰ The Cherry Blossom Event is live now — farm your Sakura Keys before the event ends. Three lanterns reset daily at 08:00 AM UTC. Log in, hit the reset locations, and keep your key count growing.
🛰️ SHD PROTOCOL SUMMARY
“Cherry Blossom Event is live in The Division 2 and the Lantern Farm is the fastest method for stacking Sakura Keys agent personal testing confirms 29 lanterns yielding 50 plus keys with an average of 4 to 5 keys per lantern and a minimum of 2 per run each of the 40 corrupted lantern locations across D.C. triggers Katsina enemy waves ranging from 2 to 5 per lantern with Ronin sometimes spawning alongside them Katsina must be eliminated before lantern activation is possible snipers are the weakest Katsina unit but capable of 2-shot kills so stay in cover Ronin are heavily armoured use healing and will hack drones use Foam Grenades to eliminate them quickly the farming loop is find lantern kill Katsina activate clear Ronin collect keys move to next location all 40 coordinates are listed starting from West End moving down the map with location 22 underground in the sewers the event uses a trickle reset system where 3 random lanterns reactivate every daily reset at 08:00 AM UTC continued farming after clearing all 40 is possible through daily reset lanterns which trigger Kitsunebi squad ambushes finding and interacting with all 40 lanterns earns the Herald of Spring Distinction and the exclusive cat arm patch group play speeds up wave clears but solo farming is fully viable”

✅ All 40 lantern coordinates listed — start West End and work down the map, location 22 is underground
✅ Personal results: 29 lanterns = 50+ keys at 4 to 5 keys per lantern average
✅ 3 random lanterns reset daily at 08:00 AM UTC — log in daily for continued key income
✅ Interact with all 40 to earn the Herald of Spring Distinction and the exclusive cat arm patch
