📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
📍 WEEK 2 WRAP — RISE UP LAUNCH WEEK DEBRIEF 📍
Week 2 of Year 8 Season 1: Rise Up was one for the books — and not entirely for the right reasons. The new season launched with serious bugs across Prototype gear, Escalation matchmaking, Retaliation progression, and the in-game store, forcing the community into workaround mode almost immediately. Thursday brought emergency maintenance to patch the most critical gear value issues, while Ubisoft confirmed that several outstanding bugs are queued for the next Title Update on April 21. Despite the turbulence, Agents kept pushing — the Proficiency Surge launched Tuesday with Triple XP live across all Expertise methods, Manhunt Week 2 went live with clean and efficient Scout 2 objectives, and the community stepped up with field-tested fixes that kept progression moving. This is your full Week 2 debrief.
🔶 PATCH & UPDATES — EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE + KNOWN ISSUES
Server Status
Servers remained stable across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox for the majority of the week. Thursday, April 9 saw emergency maintenance deployed for approximately three hours to address a critical bug causing gear values and progression to be unintentionally altered.
Emergency Maintenance — April 9
Ubisoft prioritised the gear value fix to prevent wider impact on fair play across the game. Following the maintenance window, servers returned to stable status. No standard balance patch or Title Update was deployed this week.
Outstanding Known Issues (Post-Maintenance)
Several bugs remain active heading into Week 3:
• Prototype gear — stats can shift or drop after logging out and back in. Do not upgrade irreversibly until this is confirmed fixed.
• Blacklister Exotic reconfiguration — game incorrectly requests Overdog gloves as a cost. Do not interact with this until patched.
• Retaliation bars stuck at zero — run the Daily Agitation Project as the most reliable workaround.
• Escalation matchmaking — do not queue from the Base of Operations. Fast travel to the specific mission location and activate the toggle there before queuing.
• Season Pass store UI bug — skip the reward track shortcut and navigate directly to Add-ons in the in-game store to avoid being redirected to the wrong bundle.
• Tinkerer — still unstable. Approach with caution.
• Audio — ongoing issues with Rifles and LMGs.
• Expertise screen — Pointman incorrectly displaying as Armadillo vest.
⚠️ Full fixes for Prototype gear, Daily and Weekly Projects, and Escalation are confirmed for the Title Update on April 21.
🔶 WHAT WAS RUNNING THIS WEEK
Descent Surge — Ended Tuesday, April 7
The Descent Surge closed out after daily project reset on Tuesday. Agents who completed their final runs locked in double Descent currency and had a last window to chase outstanding outfits before the event ended.
Proficiency Surge — Launched Tuesday, April 7
The Proficiency Surge kicked off immediately after Descent Surge ended — a two-week event that boosts all Expertise progression. With Triple XP active across material donations, item donations, and passive combat XP, this is the strongest Expertise farming window of the season so far.
Manhunt Week 2 — Scout 2 — Launched Tuesday, April 7
Scout 2 objectives went live Tuesday with a Hyena-focused mission set. Objectives covered 25 Hyena kills in Downtown East, three Hyena Sniper eliminations at District Union Arena, and two Hyena Ring Leaders via the Bounty system. A clean and efficient week for agents who knew where to deploy.
🔶 COMMUNITY WORKAROUNDS — FIELD-TESTED FIXES
Two key workarounds emerged from the community this week and were confirmed working by multiple Agents.
Kill Progression Not Registering
If kills are not counting toward your objectives, open your Retaliation screen, deactivate all active Retaliations, then re-enter the activity. Kill counts should begin progressing immediately. Credit to Agent John L Jones for testing and confirming this fix.
Manhunt Progression Bug
If Scout 2 kills are not registering on your main character, log onto a second character. This has been tested and confirmed as a reliable workaround until a fix is deployed in the next Title Update.
🔶 WEEKLY VENDOR RESET — APRIL 7, 2026
This week’s rotation leaned toward progression over raw power — but the Clan Vendor delivered some rare finds that made the visit worthwhile.
• The Trader — Clan Vendor — BUY OF THE WEEK. Purchase multiples for fast Expertise leveling — the single best progression grab available this week.
• Yaahl Backpack — Clan Vendor — Rare drop with strong defensive rolls. Break down for materials if the stats don’t suit your build.
• Burnout (FAMAS) — White House — Named AR with Damage to Armor. Solid recalibration library pickup.
• PP-19 — White House — Strong talent or stat roll potential. Great recalibration pickup.
• Claws Out Holster — DC East — Solid named piece for pistol or hybrid setups.
• Punch Drunk Mask — Castle Settlement — Reroll to Headshot Damage for better value.
Don’t forget to check Danny Weaver — Exotic Cache, Named Item Caches, and Field Proficiency Caches are up for grabs this week.
🔶 TACTICAL INTEL — WEEK 2 CONTENT BREAKDOWN
SHD Training Series — Week 9: Gear Sets vs High-End Builds
This week’s training tackled one of the most common endgame questions — Gear Sets vs High-End builds. The honest answer is that neither is universally better. Gear Sets deliver strong, defined playstyles with powerful 4-piece bonuses and are easier to build for newer endgame Agents. High-End builds offer maximum stat control and a higher damage ceiling when properly optimised. The decision comes down to one question: do you want a defined playstyle or full control?
Hunter Mask Files — Ghost Mask + Ivory Key #8
Wednesday’s archive covered the Ghost — one of the most complex trigger sequences in the game. Agents must capture the Washington Monument Control Point, access the supply room computer terminal to reveal three grave locations, then visit all three graves between 21:00–05:00 in-game time and perform the Salute emote at each one while facing the Monument. Return to the terminal, trigger the eclipse interaction, stand in the red circle outside, and the Ghost Hunter spawns. Reward: Ghost Mask and Ivory Key #8.
Enemy Intel Files — Week 15: Hunter Variants
Thursday’s Enemy Intel went deep on Hunter Variants — the most dangerous enemy class in The Division 2. Hunters deploy full EMP on engagement, use agent-level skills against you, adapt to your playstyle, and are specifically designed to counter both solo and group play. Counter strategy: stay calm when disrupted, fall back on raw gunplay, target headshots early to break masks, maintain cover discipline, and never isolate from your team.
Farming Friday — Triple XP Expertise Farm
With the Proficiency Surge live, the Printer Filament strategy is your fastest path to Expertise 30. Buy cheap mods from vendors, farm mods in Countdown, The Summit, or Retaliations, deconstruct for filament, then donate at the Tinkering Station. Stack methods — farm Countdown for loot, deconstruct for filament, donate for XP, and repeat. With the 3x multiplier active, items can move from Level 0 to near max in seconds.
Mission Backstories — Week 26: The Silent Watchers
Saturday’s lore post tackled the biggest mystery in the Division universe — the Hunters. Unlike every faction Agents have faced, Hunters hold no territory, broadcast no messages, and fight for no visible cause. They target Division Agents specifically, deploy SHD-mirror technology including skill suppression and ISAC disruption, and leave no confirmed records of origin, command structure, or affiliation. The leading theories point to a pre-collapse black-ops program — but at this stage, everything remains classified.
🔶 WEEKLY REMINDER
⏰ The Proficiency Surge is still active — two weeks total from Tuesday, April 7. Triple XP is live across all Expertise methods right now. Do not waste this window. The Trader at the Clan Vendor is your fastest progression grab this week. Hold off on any irreversible Prototype upgrades until the April 21 Title Update confirms the gear stability fix is live.
