📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
🛠️ THE FOUNDATION OF ALL ENDGAME PROGRESSION 🛠️
Before you touch optimization stations, before you invest in expertise upgrades, before you chase god-roll builds—there is one critical system every Division agent must master first: the Recalibration Library. This permanently stores your best attribute rolls and weapon talents, allowing unlimited reuse across all future builds without destroying the original gear. A fully stocked Library is the difference between build flexibility and inventory chaos, between efficient progression and wasted resources. This week’s SHD Training covers the two interconnected systems that form your endgame foundation: rapid Library farming through strategic extraction, and comprehensive blueprint acquisition through Control Points, Projects, and Descent mode. Master these systems early, and every piece of loot becomes a permanent upgrade rather than temporary clutter.
🔶 RAPID RECALIBRATION LIBRARY FARMING
Understanding the Recalibration Library System
The Recalibration Library is a permanent database that stores your highest attribute rolls and weapon/gear talents across all gear categories. Once a stat or talent is extracted into your Library, you can apply it to any compatible piece of gear indefinitely—without consuming the stored roll.
Why the Library is Critical:
Build Flexibility: Recalibrate any gear piece with your best stored rolls instantly
Stash Management: No need to hoard gear “just in case”—extract and delete
Future-Proofing: New gear drops can immediately benefit from months of stored progress
Optimization Efficiency: Never waste optimization materials on gear with suboptimal base rolls
The Golden Rule:
You can only recalibrate attributes and talents that already exist in your Library. No Library entry = no recalibration option. This makes Library completion the single most important endgame task for new max-level agents.
🔶 THE EXTRACTION ROUTINE — INVENTORY MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL
Follow This Loop Every Time Your Inventory Fills
Efficient Library farming isn’t about grinding specific missions—it’s about processing loot correctly every single time you return to base or open your inventory.
Step 1: Mark as Junk While Looting
As you collect gear during missions, immediately mark items you won’t use for active builds. Don’t wait until your inventory is full. Develop the habit of evaluating gear on pickup.
Step 2: Library Check First (The Green Triangle System)
Before deconstructing or donating anything, open your Tinkering Station menu (accessible anywhere in the open world when out of combat). Items with better stats than your current Library rolls will display a green upward-pointing triangle next to the attribute or talent.
What the Green Triangle Means:
This gear piece has a higher roll than what’s currently stored in your Library
Extracting this stat will permanently upgrade your Library entry
Once extracted, you can apply this improved roll to any future gear
Step 3: Extract to Upgrade
Select the item with the green triangle and choose “Extract” for the specific attribute or talent. The gear piece is destroyed, but your Library roll is permanently improved. You now have access to that higher stat across all future builds.
Step 4: Process Remaining Junk
After extracting all Library upgrades, handle leftover junk according to your priorities (detailed in Strategic Order of Operations section below).
🔶 BEST FARMING LOCATIONS FOR LIBRARY COMPLETION
Countdown (Best Overall Efficiency)
Countdown mode remains the most time-efficient method for Library farming due to high loot density and targeted loot control.
Optimal Strategy:
Run on Challenging difficulty for maximum loot-per-hour efficiency
Set Targeted Loot to a single weapon or gear category (Assault Rifles, SMGs, Mask, Chest, etc.)
Farm that specific category until every possible attribute for that slot is maxed in your Library
Rotate to next category and repeat
Why Countdown Works:
15-20 minute runs with guaranteed high loot volume
Targeted loot ensures relevant drops for Library gaps
Challenging difficulty balances clear speed with drop quality
The Summit (Solo Agent Alternative)
For agents who prefer solo play or want more control over difficulty scaling, The Summit offers flexible targeted loot farming.
Summit Strategy:
Manually set targeted loot per floor
Clear floors at your preferred difficulty
Extract Library upgrades between floor sets
Progress at your own pace without time pressure
The Summit Advantage:
Unlike Countdown’s fixed timer, Summit allows you to optimize clear speed versus difficulty for your specific build power level. Newer agents can farm lower floors efficiently, while veterans can push higher floors for better base stat ranges.
🔶 BLUEPRINT ACQUISITION STRATEGY
Why Blueprints Matter
Blueprints unlock three critical endgame functions:
Weapon Mod Crafting: Scopes, magazines, grips with specific stat bonuses
Gear Crafting: Ability to craft specific gear pieces with targeted attributes
Named Item Access: Some named/exotic items require blueprint ownership
The Blueprint Problem:
There are 240+ blueprints in The Division 2, and many players unknowingly miss entire acquisition paths, leaving gaps in their crafting capabilities for months.
🔶 CONTROL POINT FARMING — PRIMARY BLUEPRINT SOURCE
Level 3 Control Points (Recommended Efficiency)
Capturing Control Points at Alert Level 3 (Challenging difficulty) is the most efficient blueprint farming method.
Why Level 3 is Optimal:
Guaranteed Blueprint Reward: One blueprint per successful Level 3 capture
Faster Clear Times: Challenging difficulty allows quicker farming than Heroic
Resource Efficiency: Lower difficulty means fewer consumables and repairs
How to Raise Control Point Alert Levels:
Complete nearby activities (propaganda broadcasts, public executions, hostage rescues, territory controls) to raise the Alert Level of connected Control Points. Each completed activity raises linked Control Points by one Alert Level.
Level 4 Control Points (Heroic — Advanced Option)
For experienced agents with optimized builds, Level 4 (Heroic) Control Points offer increased rewards.
Level 4 Advantages:
Dual Blueprint Potential: Can award two blueprints per capture
Higher Quality Loot: Better gear drops alongside blueprints
Expertise Proficiency: More proficiency progress per kill
When to Farm Level 4:
Only recommended when your build can clear Heroic difficulty efficiently. If clear times exceed 15-20 minutes per Control Point, Level 3 farming will yield faster blueprint acquisition.
🔶 DAILY SHD REQUISITION PROJECTS — GUARANTEED BLUEPRINTS
The Most Overlooked Blueprint Source
Daily SHD Requisition Projects are one of the easiest and most consistent blueprint sources in the game, yet many players ignore them entirely.
How It Works:
Projects appear daily at the Base of Operations and Campus Settlement
Requirements: Donate basic crafting materials (Steel, Polycarbonate, Carbon Fiber, Ceramics, Electronics)
Reward: One guaranteed blueprint
Why This Matters:
You’re likely swimming in crafting materials from deconstructed gear. Trading surplus materials for guaranteed blueprints is zero-effort progression that compounds over weeks. Never skip Daily Projects.
Pro Tip:
If you’re low on specific materials, deconstruct gear types that yield what you need:
Steel/Carbon Fiber: Deconstruct weapons
Polycarbonate/Ceramics/Electronics: Deconstruct gear pieces
🔶 DESCENT MODE — LOCKED BLUEPRINTS & NAMED ITEMS
When Control Points Stop Rewarding Blueprints
If you’ve been farming Control Points and suddenly stop receiving blueprint rewards, you’ve exhausted the general blueprint pool. The remaining blueprints are locked behind Descent mode.
Reconstructed Caches (Descent Exclusive Rewards)
Descent mode features a unique loot system where currency earned during runs is spent on Reconstructed Caches between attempts.
What Reconstructed Caches Unlock:
Named Item Blueprints: Craftable versions of named gear (The Forge, Ferocious Calm, etc.)
Seasonal Gear Blueprints: Older seasonal sets that are no longer available through regular loot pools
Exclusive Descent Gear: Certain items only obtainable through Descent caches
Descent Blueprint Strategy:
Prioritize Reconstructed Caches that list blueprint rewards in their description. These caches are your only path to completing the final 10-15% of total blueprint acquisition.
Important Note:
Descent mode has a higher difficulty floor than open-world content. Ensure your build is optimized for at least Challenging difficulty content before attempting Descent farming.
🔶 STRATEGIC ORDER OF OPERATIONS — VERY IMPORTANT
The Correct Sequence for Processing Full Inventory
When your inventory reaches capacity, follow this exact priority order every single time:
1️⃣ Extract for Library (Highest Priority)
Always check for green triangles first. Extracting Library upgrades is permanent account-wide progression that benefits every future build. This takes precedence over all other inventory management.
What to Extract:
Any attribute roll higher than your current Library entry
Any weapon/gear talent you don’t have stored
Max stat rolls even if the difference is small (a 1% upgrade is still permanent)
2️⃣ Donate for Expertise (Optional — Faster Progression Path)
After extracting Library upgrades, remaining junk gear can be donated to raise Proficiency levels, which unlock Expertise upgrade potential for that gear type.
Personal Note from The Division Dispatch:
I personally don’t use this method—I take the long route and farm Proficiency through natural gameplay rather than donating gear. However, donating is objectively the fastest path to Expertise unlocks if that’s your priority.
When to Donate:
If you’re actively pushing Expertise levels for specific gear
If you have excess junk and want to accelerate Proficiency gains
If you don’t need crafting materials immediately
3️⃣ Deconstruct for Materials (Default Action)
All remaining junk gear should be deconstructed rather than sold.
Why Deconstruct Instead of Sell:
Crafting Materials are exponentially more valuable than credits
Credits are abundant and rarely a bottleneck at endgame
Materials are required for recalibration, optimization, and crafting
You can always earn credits—materials require gear destruction
When to Sell (Rare):
Only sell gear if you’re capped on all crafting materials (unlikely) or desperately need credits for an immediate vendor purchase (almost never happens at endgame).
🔶 PRO TIP — ACCESS TINKERING STATION ANYWHERE
Out-of-Combat Inventory Management
You can access the Tinkering Station directly from your inventory menu anywhere in the open world, as long as you’re not in combat.
Why This Matters:
No need to fast-travel back to Base of Operations or Safe Houses just to clean up inventory. Extract Library upgrades, donate, or deconstruct immediately during missions or farming runs.
Workflow Optimization:
When farming Countdown or Summit, open your Tinkering Station between runs to process loot in real-time. This prevents inventory overflow mid-mission and ensures you never miss Library extraction opportunities.
🔶 TACTICAL TAKEAWAY — THE COMPOUND EFFECT
What a Full Library Provides
Completing your Recalibration Library is not a one-time goal—it’s the foundation that makes every other endgame system more efficient.
A Full Library Means:
✅ No Stash Clutter: Extract and delete instead of hoarding “maybe useful” gear
✅ No Wasted Optimization: Never optimize gear with suboptimal base rolls
✅ Faster Build Creation: Recalibrate new drops to god-tier instantly
✅ Total Meta Flexibility: Adapt to balance changes and new builds without re-farming
The Long-Term Vision:
Every green triangle you extract today is a permanent upgrade for every build you create in the future. Three months from now, when a new meta drops or a balance patch shifts the game, agents with full Libraries will adapt overnight. Agents without Libraries will start the farm from scratch.
Build your Library first. Everything else becomes easier.
