📋 WEEKLY OVERVIEW
🔶 CLOSING 2025 AND LAUNCHING 2026
Morning Agents! What an incredible week to close out 2025 and launch into 2026! We crossed into the new year with massive momentum—a confirmed 10th Anniversary reveal, a Winter Event crisis and recovery, active Proficiency XP farming, deep lore drops, and the community rallying through emergency maintenance. This week proved once again that no matter what happens, Division agents adapt, overcome, and push forward.
🔶 PATCH & UPDATES — EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE RESPONSE
Early Week Stability (December 29-31):
The week started strong with stable servers across all platforms. No scheduled maintenance was announced, the Winter Event was running smoothly, and the Proficiency XP Event was active, providing agents with 2-3x faster progression opportunities. Everything seemed on track for a smooth transition into the new year.
The Winter Event Crisis (December 31):
Then, on December 31, disaster struck. The Winter Event shut down unexpectedly—two weeks ahead of its scheduled January 6 end date. Winter Keys stopped dropping from all sources, Krampus Lauf vanished from open-world spawns, decorations disappeared across D.C., and while the event timer remained visible, it was completely broken. The community immediately flagged the issue across social media and forums.
Ubisoft’s Emergency Response (January 2):
Ubisoft acknowledged the problem quickly, identified the cause, and deployed emergency maintenance on January 2. Servers were down for approximately three hours while the team worked to restore full functionality. When maintenance concluded, the Winter Event was fully operational again—and Ubisoft extended the event to January 13, giving all agents an extra week to complete their farming goals.
Community Reaction:
The extension was met with relief and appreciation. Agents who had lost farming time during the shutdown now had a fair chance to catch up, and the gesture reinforced trust between Ubisoft and the player base.
🔶 10TH ANNIVERSARY REVEAL — JANUARY 11-12, 2026
Ubisoft has officially confirmed a major content reveal tied to The Division franchise’s 10th Anniversary at FPS Day X in Tokyo, Japan on January 11-12, 2026 (adjusted for time zones).
What We Know:
Creative Director Yanick Cassista and Product Manager Daria Generalova will attend in person, and select attendees will get hands-on access to a brand-new mode. Exclusive rewards include in-game weapon skins and physical merchandise like the Tommy the Teddy hoodie and Division cap.
Is This Survivors Mode?
Unlikely. Survivors is positioned after the 10th Anniversary reveal and is still in early development, with ETF testing expected later in 2026. This strongly suggests a new, unannounced experience that will launch the 2026 roadmap.
The community is buzzing with speculation—everything from new game modes to potential Division 3 teasers. Whatever Ubisoft reveals, it’s clear they’re using the 10th Anniversary as a major statement of intent for the franchise’s future.
🔶 PROFICIENCY XP EVENT — ENDGAME PREP WEEK
This event is all about Proficiency progression first, with Expertise benefits following naturally. Agents are seeing 2-3x faster Proficiency progress, with junk donations scaling massively. Printer Filament remains the highest-value resource for donations.
Optimal Farming Strategies:
Focus on weapons you never use, passive skill leveling, and rare brands or unused gear sets. The best content for farming includes Countdown (group carry-friendly), Open World Control Point Level 3s with directives active, and speed-run missions like Lincoln Memorial and Air & Space Museum.
This event alone can save weeks of grind for agents pushing toward max Expertise or completing Proficiency goals. If you’re working on endgame progression, this is your week to capitalize.
🔶 MANHUNT WEEK 5 — SCOUT #5 ELIMINATED
Week 5’s Manhunt objectives were straightforward but required careful execution. Agents needed to activate their scout before starting, then complete three objectives: Target Practice (all four firing range rounds), Supplies (donate approximately 50 resources to No Hope Hotel Control Point), and Propaganda (stop True Sons broadcasts). Completion unlocked new Rising Echo intel, adding another piece to the ongoing narrative puzzle.
🔶 VENDOR RESET — DECEMBER 30
This week’s vendor rotation included several strong pickups. The Hollow Man Mask with Health Damage is excellent for PvP and hybrid builds. The Carnage LMG with Perfect Sadist is top-tier for status effect builds, amplifying damage against bleeding or burning targets. The Police M4 with Max Damage to Armor provides a strong DPS option for PvE content.
As always, vendor-buy-donate remains one of the fastest paths for Expertise leveling. Even if you don’t need the item personally, buying vendor gear for donations adds up quickly over time.
🔶 SEASON CHAPTER 4 — FAYE LAU’S TRUTH
Chapter 4 took agents back to Camp White Oak and revealed the truth behind Faye Lau’s actions. She was never a true defector—she operated undercover against Black Tusk, coordinated with Barton Schaefer, and her death preserved the mission’s legitimacy. Season 4 reinforced a central theme: loyalty isn’t always visible, and sacrifice is rarely rewarded publicly.
🔶 NPC LORE FILES — MANNY ORTEGA & PRESIDENT ELLIS
This week’s NPC lore files examined two contrasting figures. Manny Ortega represents duty without authority—trust in agents rather than systems, holding the SHD line even as leadership collapsed around him. President Andrew Ellis represents authority without accountability—weaponizing chaos and secrecy, poisoning the SHD from the top. The core conflict is duty versus corruption, and the cost of keeping a broken system alive.
🔶 ENEMY INTEL FILES — ROGUE AGENTS
Rogue Agents are former Division operatives with full SHD tech access. They’re adaptive, ruthless, and lethal. Tactical advice for engaging them: EMP early to disable skills, focus fire to prevent healing, control space to limit their movement, and finish downed Rogues immediately to prevent revives. Rogue Agents aren’t an accident—they’re the outcome of a system under strain.
🔶 MISSION BACKSTORIES CHAPTER 2 — COUNTDOWN FACILITY
Saturday’s Mission Backstories entry launched Chapter 2 with the Countdown Facility. The facility reveals SHD’s darkest contingency plan: agent stress testing, rogue behavior modeling, and endgame collapse simulations. Countdown wasn’t reactive—it was predictive. The system knew it might fail and prepared agents to operate without centralized command. Black Tusk’s attempts to breach Countdown infrastructure suggest they understood its true purpose: modeling scenarios that eventually became their real-world operations.
🔶 WINTER EVENT STATUS — EXTENDED TO JANUARY 13
The Winter Event is now running through January 13, giving all agents extra time to complete their goals. The Community Cache Goal was completed with 1 million keys donated, unlocking the White Krampus Outfit for all agents. Personal donation tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold arm patches) remain active, and agents can still hunt for all 40 hidden presents to earn the Green Krampus Patch commendation.
The fastest Winter Key farm method still works: set difficulty to Normal, get a Krampus bounty from minion squads, clear the area without killing Krampus, wipe intentionally, and restart. This bypasses the 10-minute open-world spawn timer and allows rapid key farming on easy difficulty.
🔶 CLOSING NOTES
This week didn’t just close a year—it set the tone for 2026. The 10th Anniversary begins this month, the Winter Event is back and extended, endgame progression is wide open, and lore continues to expose uncomfortable truths about the Division’s origins and operations.
Stay sharp, stay informed, and stay ready. The road ahead is going to be intense.
