📋 THEMATIC OVERVIEW
🔶 WHAT THIS EVENT IS REALLY FOR
The Proficiency XP Event is not primarily about grinding SHD levels or general experience gains. This event serves a much more specific and strategically valuable purpose for endgame progression.
The true value of this event is speed-running items to Proficiency Rank 10 so you can unlock more items for the Expertise system, raise your global Expertise cap faster, and prepare builds without wasting rare materials on items you haven’t proficienced yet.
Understanding this distinction is critical. Many agents waste this event farming content inefficiently or focusing on the wrong progression metrics. This guide provides the optimal approach to maximize value during the event window.
🔶 TOP PRIORITY TARGETS (IN ORDER)
Weapons You Never Use (But Want Proficient): Equip two weapons you don’t normally use but want to unlock for Expertise progression. Run fast content (detailed below) and swap them out once they hit Proficiency Rank 10. This method is ideal if you’re low on materials and want to expand your Expertise unlock pool without immediately investing resources into upgrading. Don’t upgrade Expertise yet—just unlock Proficiency status first.
Skills (Free XP): Slot two skills you don’t regularly use and let them level passively during combat encounters. Skills level insanely fast during this event, making them perfect filler content while you’re simultaneously farming weapons and gear. This is essentially free progression that requires no additional effort beyond initial loadout setup.
Gear Brands and Gear Sets: Focus on rare brands you never run (examples: Yaahl Gear, Uzina Geophysics, Belstone Armory, or any other underutilized brands and named gear pieces) and gear sets you don’t primarily use. Important: Do not donate named items or god-rolled pieces. Only use items you’re willing to sacrifice for Proficiency gains.
🔶 FASTEST CONTENT TO FARM (RANKED)
Countdown (Still King): Countdown remains the most efficient Proficiency farming content available. The mode offers massive enemy density, consistent gear drops that can be donated for additional Proficiency gains, and works perfectly even with junk loadouts since other players will carry damage output. Don’t worry about your personal damage contribution—focus on maximizing item Proficiency gains.
Challenging Open World (With 2-3 Directives Active): Solo-friendly alternative focusing on Control Points at Level 3, Territory Control activities, and Public Executions. This approach is fast, stress-free, and doesn’t require group coordination. Activating 2-3 directives increases XP gains without significantly impacting completion speed for experienced agents.
Speed-Run Missions: Best mission selections include Lincoln Memorial, Air & Space Museum, and Federal Emergency Bunker. These missions offer fast completion times with decent enemy density. Skip longer missions unless you’re executing optimized speed-run strategies with coordinated groups.
🔶 DONATION STRATEGY (VERY IMPORTANT)
What to Donate: Duplicate weapons, duplicate gear pieces, and Printer Filament (best value during event due to XP multipliers). During this event, donating just 1-2 items can equal an entire Proficiency rank, making donations extremely efficient.
What NOT to Donate: Exotic components, Optimization materials, and crafting-only brand sets you actively use. These resources are too valuable to sacrifice for Proficiency gains that can be achieved through gameplay.
🔶 OPTIMAL LOADOUT SETUP
The most efficient farming loadout consists of: one main weapon (to actually kill enemies effectively), two junk weapons (for Proficiency farming), two junk skills (passive Proficiency gains), and mixed junk gear pieces if your survivability allows it. This setup farms 5-6 items simultaneously, maximizing efficiency per time invested.
🔶 WEEKEND POWER PLAN
Friday: Prepare junk loadouts and gather materials for donations. Saturday: Execute Countdown sessions and Open World farming runs. Sunday: Complete cleanup donations and unlock final Proficiency caps before event ends.
🔶 EVENT RULES SUMMARY
Prioritize Proficiency unlocks first, upgrade Expertise later. Donate duplicate items, never donate valuable resources. Run Countdown if grouped, Challenging Open World if solo. This event saves weeks of normal grinding—use it efficiently.
